What's happening in our world...

An idea for a cushion design inspired by my love of bargains! It all started when I managed to hunt down some dayglo pink felt and felt COMPELLED to create something with it. The writing is cut out of the pink felt with a white felt background behind and stitched together by hand. The back which you can't see is dayglo yellow, a longtime ago bargain purchase from Berwick St. The beautiful baby Jesus is from Seville - they just kind of seem to work together - is that bad?

London Design Festival is finally over and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I got to meet and see lots of very creative and inspirational people and things. My mind is buzzing with new ideas. Volunteer reportage for LDF is thoroughly recommended - thanks for letting me Tweet & Facebook for you! And thanks also to [re]designDesign who let me hold two workshops at their 100% Design stand. Tired but inspired and what an impressive bag collection...

The sad closure of Hidden Art has been announced after 22 years of support to crafters, makers and designers. Check out the HIDDEN ART website for more info. The sad news has however inspired me to get back into embroidery with this idea that popped into my head entitled 'There is no hope'. It's inspired by the Banksy piece 'There is Hope' and I really enjoyed using stencilling with embroidery.
