MINIMALIST CROSS STITCH
This is a present for a friend which might be developed into a future product. The phrase 'Less is More' was cross stitched in minimalist light grey onto 14ct white Aida and then framed.
The phrase is often associated with Architect Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe but I discovered that it can also be found in the 1855 poem Andrea del Sarto by Robert Browning:
Who strive - you don't know how the others strive
To paint a little thing like that you smeared
Carelessly passing with your robes afloat,-
Yet do much less, so much less, Someone says,
(I know his name, no matter) - so much less!
Well, less is more, Lucrezia.
